AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC

Position Description

You will serve as an Automotive Mechanic for Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in the Commander Navy Region Hawaii (CNRH). This position is located in Pearl Harbor, HI at NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PEARL HARBOR.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul major components and systems such as engines, transmissions, differentials, and related electrical and electromotive equipment, emission control, hydraulic, fuel and other assemblies.
• You will disassemble, inspect, determine serviceability of components (and replace as necessary) parts such as pistons, rings, valves, bearings, gears, torque converters, clutches, axles, drive lines, etc.
• You will make diagnostic assessments by a combination of visual and auditory examinations, and use of a wide variety of test equipment.
• You will complete repairs and installations with little or no technical advice.
