TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT

You will serve as a Transportation Assistant of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF.

You will provide transportation support duties that consist of making necessary arrangements for the movement of materials by all modes using commercial carriers and government operated and/or chartered carriers.
You will investigate and determine carriers' responsibilities for overages, shortages, astray, damages, or any discrepancies incident to the shipment of material.
You will have knowledge of personal property and POV shipping and storage entitlements to inform customers of entitlements and limitations authorized by the government, mover's liabilities and non-shipment of prohibited items.
You will establish and maintain shipping/storage records, for audit readiness.
You will research regulations, files and multiple automated systems to approve transportation requests.
You will present clear and comprehensive presentations and briefs, both orally and in writing, and possess effective interpersonal skills for communicating with peers and customers.
