Position Description

You will serve as a Transportation Assistant in the Personal Property Processing Office of NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Guantanamo Bay. THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. The National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2020 streamlines certain Department of Defense (DoD) civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain DoD competitive service positions.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • You will compile shipping documents to finalize application for shipment or storage of personal property (e.g., signatures, counseling checklist, customs forms, pay adjustment authorizations).
  • You will serve as point of contact for customers regarding personal property and goods shipment functions.
  • You will respond to customer concerns (e.g., storage entitlement expiration, explanation of potential excess costs related to storage) to meet customer needs.
  • You will enter data into automated transportation systems to track and manage shipments.
