Position Description

This position is located in postal activity at assigned Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC). Incumbent serves as Postal Operations Specialist. Incumbent is Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for official mail program oversite and providing ashore postal advisory and inspection services. Responsible for training and inspection of official and personal mail programs ashore; in addition to management of USPS equipment and supplies assigned to shore locations. Controls Navy Official Mail Cost Control Program, regional Area of Responsibility (AOR) mail processing and routing and local registered mail program.

As Official Mail Manager (OMM), responsible for issuing and enforcing mail policies to commands; working with the various commands to analyze and determine requirements; establishing a mail management program and attendant procedures at serviced commands; ensuring that postal regulations and laws are complied with; ensuring that the appropriate levels of control and security are maintained; and preparing a variety of reports related to the operations.
