Position Description

You will serve as a Security Assistant in the Security Department, Command Operations Division, of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for answering all phone and radio calls received in the Alarm Center while operating various manual and automated alarm monitoring systems.
  • You will monitor all appropriate alarm systems including fire alarms, intrusion detection system (IDS) alarms, and duress alarms.
  • You will provide internal, external, and intra-command coordination at the request of NSA police, fire, radiological control, and response units.
  • You will maintain an up-to-date log of all radio and telephonic transmissions sent/received and a chronological minute-to-minute log of significant events.
  • You will communicate clearly, concisely, and distinctly on all messages being recorded or transmitted.
