Position Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center of NAVSUP FLC SIG GF in Sigonella, Italy. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • You will evaluate those procurements that are competitively negotiated to develop source selection plans, establish criteria for each evaluation factor including management, technical and cost and determine the weight to be assigned to each factor.
  • You will develop administrative systems and programs to correct problems encountered in contract performance.
  • You will conduct training to improve simplified acquisition practices.
  • You will implement Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies to prevent the occurrence of employee grievances.
  • You will conduct cost analysis (e.g., audit and substantiation of contractor's cost data, economic forecasting techniques, evaluation of corporate structures) to identify cost items properly chargeable to the price under review or analysis.
  • You will advise requestors during pre-solicitation phase on the use of different types of contracts and different pricing mechanisms.
