Position Description

You will serve as a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist in the Industrial Support Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR YOKOSUKA. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.***

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • You will independently analyze complex problems to resolve issues involving supply chain management, material acquisition, supply requisition and data procedures, inventory control, and logistics support requirements.
  • You will monitor overall performance and ensures the use of sound business and leadership practices in fulfilling all material management responsibilities.
  • You will identify areas for improvement and drives changes necessary for success.
  • You will ensure departmental resources and efforts are aligned to meet material requirements supporting ship availabilities and repairs.
  • You will maintain oversight of the Government Purchase Card Program (GCPC).
  • You will direct the Depot Level Repairable program, Government Property Administration, and Level 1/SUBSAFE material management program.
  • You will serve as the resident expert in ship repair material logistics, supply chain management, transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution.
  • You will be responsible for processing, tracking, accounting for, warehousing, issuing and delivering all material.
  • You will exercise direct line supervision and authority of three operational branches comprised of U.S. Civil Servants (USCS), U.S. Navy officers, and Japanese Foreign National Master Labor Contract employees (MLC).
  • You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, prepare schedules for completion of work, assign work to subordinates based on priorities, and evaluate work performance of subordinates.
