Position Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY CONTRACT SPECIALIST for the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Sigonella (FLCSI) Contracting Department, Sigonella, Italy. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • You will ensure contracting actions comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
  • You will serve as the contractual authority on the acceptability and applicability of contractual matters related to the Branch or Division.
  • You will develop innovative approaches to address issues not susceptible to treatment by accepted procurement methods.
  • You will act as the Branch supervisor for Contract Specialists, Purchasing Agents, and Procurement Technicians responsible for developing common, commercial approaches to the acquisition of various groups of supplies and services.
  • You will analyze settlement proposals, audit reports, technical evaluations, and subcontractor claims. Determines termination inventory, disposal of Government property, allowable costs and profit, re-procurement costs, and similar issues.
  • You will mentor employees at all organizational levels to ensure constant skill development, appropriate career progression, and improved work environment.
